Default Prefered Dervish 2ndary profession?

What's your preferred and why?

During the prerelease event I did Monk, but found it seemed to just duplicate my Dervish abilities. I've been considering Ranger now, but I'm not sure.

Walking around the game, most of the Dervishes I see chose Monk, and I'm curious to know why, as well as why those who chose otherwise chose it.

...or monk so you could have a hard rez? Maybe use prot enchants for some effectiveness of energy gain when they come off (high mysticism ftw)...

I've been using monk for the smiting line of skills. Holy Damage is one of the Dervishe's strong points since not many monsters have a high resistance to it. Balthazar's avatar+Judge's insight+sundering scythe=mass damage. Stack on Heart of holy flame and some of the other mysticism holy damage enchants and use twin sweep or other scythe attacks with bonus damage for enchants and you end up dealing huge damage that is largely unable to be resisted.

No profession has defence against holy damage. Same with illusionary weapons chaos damage.

I didn't say profession I said monsters. I'm PvE only. I don't do PvP though it has applications there as well. I believe there are a few monsters that have a resistance to it then there are others that have very very low resistances to it, undead for example.

Mmm yea, I took Warrior, but I don't use it either. Figured someday I might make a build that takes advantage of the adrenaline gained, but so far the enchants seem more important than any tactics skill.

Or maybe you want the safety of some nice heals? Maybe you want to smite of yourself? Maybe you just want a hard rez? Nah...I like your idea better. Because you're a newbie.

Honestly, grow up.
